Our Story

Back in December of 2012, Color Me Kawaii and Envy Cosplay had an idea: A female lead Miyazaki group. It wasn't long till a simple idea for a cosplay group became what is known as The Ghibli Girls.

Meeting for the first time as a group during a Cosplay Christmas party, we all had the hope to give Studio Ghibli the tribute they deserve. Studio Ghibli was founded in June of 1985, and since then has inspired many artists, filmmaker, animaters, and writers. From then on it has grown from Hayao Miyazaki to his son, Goro Miyazaki. For all sorts of reasons, the Ghibli Girls have found a love to the Studio and what it can do in Animation.

Now their panels and talks range from a full tribute to the studio, to analysis on the creatures of Ghibli. Their other work goes to trivia with prizes made by the Ghibli Girls' own Jessa Belle Whips. They also host screenings of the films and in the future hope to use their talent and their love to support charities related to the Ghibli Girls.
